Midnight Hours by Wunder Wunder
These Californian based Aussies effortlessly pair sun-kissed good vibes with nighttime excitement. Their infectious upbeat track “Midnight Hours” will have you tapping your feet or steering-wheel drumming in no time but there is a heaviness.
And Wunder Wunder reminds us that summer is about shedding our daytime responsibilities, if only for a few minutes. But it’s all bittersweet. We are in the midnight hours of summer. But in 5h3m, we find moments of floating and fleeting freedom where the possibilities are endless.
Turn it up, let your hair down, and savor the last bits of warm night air like you just snuck out your parents’ house.

Freedom Fry - The Wilder Mile
It’s September 15th but I am still clinging to the vestiges of summer. Leaves are oranging, the sun is setting unsettlingly earlier and earlier and to make matters worse, it’s Monday. But as we cross the threshold to October and pumpkin spice takes the place of shorts, I’ll let this song preserve the illusion a little longer.
The Wilder Mile fits into the indie niche left barren by Summer of 2010, which had Edward Sharpe, Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons on repeat. The harmonies twanging with lo-fi, the clapping, whistling and the tambourine (never forget the tambourine) transform the chilly impending Autumn wind into a warm one.
So as your day winds down, let Freedom Fry cheer you up a little. Their EP, The Wilder Mile, came out August 5th.
